Whilst building a template you might encounter the below issue. This article will assist in the troubleshooting of this issue.
Symptom:
Error message is thrown while using the Test Template Function or While assembling the final document. (See screenshot below)
This is because of Content sections that do not exist where specified any more. To test this scenario simply follow the steps below:
1) Open the DocGeneration/SlideGeneration Tab at the top of the Word/Power Point instance.
2) Click on the Content Section button. (This will open the pane on the right hand side of the screen.)
3) Select each of your Content Sections individually and click on the Edit Content button at the bottom of the pane.
The above screenshot should be shown when you have found the content section which does not have a document/slide deck to reference. On the template you might still see the hyperlink or grey slide but it might be orphaned at runtime.
Solution:
Delete this content section and re-add it.
